Walailak University Council it resolved to approve Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong to be the President of Walailak University for another term.
- On January 8, 2022, at the meeting of Walailak University Council (Secret Agenda) No. 1/2022, 2 persons who passed the qualification for the position of President were invited, namely Associate Professor Dr. Jiraphon Sangpho and Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong presented his vision or approach to university administration to the University Council.
- At the aforementioned meeting, it was resolved to approve Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong to be President of Walailak University for another term and request the university to proceed in order to graciously appoint the King.
- In this regard, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong took the position of first-term rector on July 1, 2016. In the past and served as the President of National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) 2 terms and 5 university President of the University Councils. In addition, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong is also a professor of public administration, recognized both in Thailand and abroad.
