The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, organized a workshop on the principles and applications of Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) On October 22, 2024.
- The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment has a main mission to provide laboratories and science equipment for teaching, research, and academic services. In order for operations to be consistent with the university's mission, The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment promotes laboratories to be ready for teaching and have modern science equipment to increase efficiency so that students can learn and perform operations effectively.
- From various scientific tools, chromatography tools are important tools for studying and researching basic knowledge in analyzing chemical components, both qualitatively and quantitatively. They are used in both teaching and research. Currently, chromatography techniques are very important, especially in the food industry, petrochemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, medicine, and environmental work.
- At present, the development of chromatography tools has been continuously developed until it became a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) to detect complex and small quantities of chemicals. It has increased sensitivity and accuracy, allowing it to detect substances with very low concentrations. The high-resolution spectral separation resolution allows for clearer identification of substances with similar characteristics. It supports the analysis of multiple target lists at the same time. It is possible to develop an analytical method to analyze more than a hundred substances in a single injection. It also has a database for separating and identifying complex chemicals.
- To meet the needs of those interested in studying and doing research, such as research on drug quality control and purity testing, including the analysis of trace elements in drug production, testing for additives, chemical residues, and contaminants in food and beverages, and measuring chemicals in water, soil, and air to detect contaminants that may affect health and the environment, it is necessary to organize a workshop on the principles and applications of Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) so that participants can use the instrument correctly and efficiently, and can also apply the knowledge to further research and development.
- In this regard, The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University has organized a workshop on the principles and applications of Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS) on October 22, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Nursing Demonstration Room, Building for science and technology 8 (B8).
