The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, participated in the 5th Laboratory System Development Network Academic Conference, “Smart Lab 5: ESG-Driven Smart Labs for SDGs,” held from 25–26 May 2026.
- The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University participated in the 5th Academic Conference on Laboratory System Development Network, “Smart Lab 5: ESG-Driven Smart Labs for SDGs,” held on 25–26 May 2026. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Council of University Professional and Support Staff of Thailand (CUPST).
- On this occasion, the Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, also served as a broadcasting venue and provided event moderation during the closing session of the program.
- The conference was organized to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and approaches for developing laboratory management systems in alignment with the Smart Lab concept, while supporting the goals of laboratory safety and sustainable development (SDGs).
- Furthermore, Miss Rotthaporn Palasuek, Acting Sub Lt. Natee Sakorn and Miss Wasinee Poonsawat, participated in the Good Practice Competition and won the First Prize in the category of Enhancing Laboratory Standards. Their presentation, entitled “From ESPReL to Sustainability and the SDGs: Lessons Learned from Innovative Laboratory Safety Management at the Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University,” provided an overview of the Center’s ESPReL activities.
- The presentation highlighted the implementation of the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—with a focus on reducing the use of hazardous chemicals and minimizing laboratory waste. These efforts aim to enhance laboratory safety and sustainability, promote the health and well-being of laboratory personnel, and prevent the release of waste into the environment.
