The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, Participates in the 1st 2026 Thailand Scientific Equipment Network (TSEN) Meeting, Held on 25–26 May 2026 at Mahidol Sitthakarn, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
- The Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, participated in the 1st 2026 meeting of the Thailand Scientific Equipment Network (TSEN), held from 25–26 May 2026 at Mahidol Sitthakarn, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
- The meeting was hosted by Mahidol University, which graciously served as the host institution for this important gathering of the national scientific equipment network.
- The opening ceremony of the meeting was honored by Professor M.L. Chakrit Kitiyakara, M.D., Vice President for Research, Mahidol University, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Phuwadon Bangrak, Director of the Center for Scientific and Technological Equipment, Walailak University, and Chair of the Thailand Scientific Equipment Network (TSEN), who delivered the welcome remarks to all participants.
- In addition, Professor Dr. Yossanan Wongsa-wat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, delivered a special keynote address on the topic “The Role of Central Scientific Equipment Centers in Universities in Driving National Development.”
- The event was attended by executives from the Thailand Scientific Equipment Network (TSEN), university administrators, and representatives from scientific and research organizations across the country, who participated in full attendance.
- The event featured an academic conference, panel discussions, and a special lecture on the topic “Research and Innovation to Real World Impact,” delivered by speakers from both academia and industry.
- The sessions covered several key issues, including:
- - Topic: “Developing Low-cost Perovskite Solar Cells and Radiative Cooling Films for the Era of Energy Crisis” by Associate Professor Dr. Phongsakorn Kanchanabut, Program in Materials Science and Materials Innovation, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University
- - Topic: “Blueprints of Life: How We Learned to See, Predict, and Edit Biology” by Assistant Professor Dr. Puey Oonchai, Program in Biology, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University
- - Topic: “Future Trends in Environmental Contaminants Analysis” by Mr. Chakraphong Kumsap, Division Manager, Application Support Division, Bara Scientific Co., Ltd.
- - Topic: “Accelerating Thailand’s Semiconductor & Advanced Materials Future through Microscopy & Surface Analysis” by Ms. Chattanapa Intanon, Product Specialist, Materials & Structural Analysis, Thermo Fisher Scientific (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
- - Topic: “How Digitalization is Transforming the Laboratory Equipment Industry” by Ms. Hatainas Piewthongngam, Manager, Marketing Management, DKSH Technology Limited
- In addition, parallel breakout group discussions were held on various key topics, including commercial research and services, laboratory standard development, equipment management, laboratory capability databases, scientific equipment maintenance, and laboratory safety standards.
- The program also included study visits and tours of laboratory facilities within Mahidol University, aimed at facilitating knowledge exchange and sharing of best practices among network members.
