SDG2 and SDG14 goals, Walailak University ranked 101-200 in the world from THE Impact Rankings 2022.
- Walailak University Sustainable Development Performance (SDGs). On target, SDG2 and SDG14 are ranked 101-200 in the world, up 100 places from 201-300 in the 2022 THE Impact Ranking of Universities. Walailak University is ranked 601-800 in the world.
- On April 28, 2022, The Times Higher Education (THE) announced the results of the University Rankings for the 2022 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or THE Impact Rankings. 1,406 universities in 106 countries around the world and 51 Thai universities participated.
- As a result, Walailak University's UN Sustainable Development (SDGs) achievements in SDG2 goals : aimed at eliminating hunger achieve food security Promote sustainable agriculture (Zero hunger) and SDG14 : conserve and exploit oceans and marine resources. For Sustainable Development (Life below water) ranked 101-200 in the world, moving up 100 ranks from 201-300 and is ranked 6th and 5th in Thailand.
- In addition, the SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production section, which was submitted for the first time this year Ranked 101-200 in the world, ranked 8th among universities in Thailand. This confirms the University's commitment to serving the local communities in the South, consistent with the motto "To be an institution of good governance, a source of knowledge for critical problems facing the nation, to unfailingly address community needs, and to strive for international recognition for excellence."
- Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, said, "This is the second time Walailak University has submitted a complaint to THE to assess how much we have played a role in helping the community. We are very proud of the level that indicates our commitment to improving our community. We are very proud because our role in helping local communities is recognized by the United Nations. This is recognizing our role as members of the international community. I would like to thank Walailak University personnel from all parties. For their dedication to improving the international recognition of the University."
- However, in 2022, Walailak University has submitted 9 indicators that Walailak University sent to THE Impact Rankings for consideration this time SDG2 : Zero Hunger , SDG3 : Good Health and Well-being , SDG4 : Quality Education , SDG6 : Clean Water and Sanitation , SDG9 : Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure , SDG14 : Life Below Water and SDG17 : Partnerships for the Goals. And the first indicators submitted this year were SDG11 : Sustainable cities and Communities and SDG12 : Responsible Consumption and Production. As a result, the overall ranking of all SDGs, Walailak University is ranked 601-800 in the world as mentioned.
